Carib)

Language Use: All ages in some areas. The eastern dialect is
the prestige dialect in Suriname. Speakers of the
central dialect are reported to be bilingual and
shifting to Sranan. They also speak Dutch as second

Region: Various locations along the north coast. The eastern
dialect in Suriname is primarily in the Albina area
